Hi, I’m Clifton Randall,
Are you familiar with the people that I’m talking about in those two headline attempts above? Yeah… Want to hear something funny? One of them called and asked me this, “Mr. Randall, do you understand Chapter 7 Bankruptcy?”
I held the phone away from my ear and stared blankly at it… making faces.
I weakly apologized for not knowing the intricacies of Chapter 7, “I’m sorry Mrs. Shaw, (Why do they always send the women after us?) I don’t understand Chapter 7 Bankruptcy.” Is she joking?
She comes bulldozing back with her deadpan irritating voice, “Well Mr. Randall, do you understand Chapter 13?”
She's scaring me now. My palms begin to sweat (a lifelong thing that happens when I get nervous). The phone almost slips out of my wet hand.(Why do they make those cell phones so tiny anyway?)
I think to myself, Randy (just a small thing between me, myself and I), why is she grilling you like this? If you haven’t reached chapter 7 yet, what would make her think that you got as far as chapter 13?
In the end, the call didn’t go well for me at all. She made an appointment for me to come in and discuss this matter with her.
